The HYDRA mount was designed for greater situational awareness and faster target identification. Raising the optic higher enables the user to maintain a vertical spine and a more athletic posture even when wearing bulky masks, headsets and night vision equipment.

The elevated Picatinny platform is designed for lights and lasers. This means there's no need to compromise your grip because of limited rail space on the handguard. It also prevents your hand from obscuring lights and lasers and brings weight closer to the centre of the platform.

This design is also a great solution for mounting optics and lasers to shorter PDW and SMG platforms where rail space is limited.
